1. JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Studies (DOS) is responsible for leading and improving academic performance across the school by ensuring high teaching standards, effective curriculum delivery, and strong student outcomes using both traditional and technology-driven systems.

School Director / Head Teacher

Key responsibilities
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Academic Leadership
• Lead and supervise all teaching staff
• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning in all classes
• Implement structured and international (Cambridge-style) curriculum

Curriculum Management
• Review and approve schemes of work
• Approve lesson plans before teaching
• Ensure syllabus coverage is completed on time

Teacher Supervision & Development
• Conduct regular classroom observations
• Provide feedback and coaching to teachers
• Organize weekly academic meetings and training sessions

Student Performance Management
• Monitor student academic performance
• Analyze test and exam results
• Develop strategies to improve weak subjects and classes

Assessment & Examinations
• Oversee tests, exams, and assessments
• Ensure proper marking and timely feedback
• Maintain academic records and reports

Discipline & Classroom Management
• Ensure proper classroom discipline
• Support teachers in managing student behaviour
• Enforce academic policies

Minimum qualifications
4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• Teaching certification (added advantage)
• Minimum 3–5 years teaching experience
• Leadership experience in a school setting

• Ability to train and mentor teachers

6. TECHNOLOGY & DIGITAL SKILLS (MANDATORY)
The Director of Studies must demonstrate strong ability in the use of technology for academic management, including:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to use Excel for student performance tracking and analysis
• Experience with digital lesson planning and reporting systems
• Ability to supervise and guide teachers in using classroom technology
• Familiarity with e-learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom or similar)
• Ability to implement technology-driven teaching and monitoring systems
